On September 25, 2016, the first meeting of CSIAM Committee for Women in Applied Mathematics is held in the South Building of Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The committee chair Guiying Yan hosts the meeting, and 12 committee members attend.

At the meeting, each committee member gives a short self-introduction. Then, the members discuss the committee working regulations, and determine the committee's aim, responsibilities as well as management. They also discuss the status quo of women in applied mathematics, and make the committee's short-term and long-term plans.
