CSIAM vice-president Huazhong Tang attends the Joint Symposium of JSIAM Activity Groups 2017 on behalf of CSIAM
Invited by the Japan Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (JSIAM), CSIAM Vice-President Huazhong Tang attends the Joint Symposium of JSIAM Activity Groups 2017 (http://union2017.jsiam.org/) on behalf of CSIAM. The symposium is held in the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo, Japan on March 6-7, 2017.
At the symposium, Huazhong Tang gives a presentation titled as "Industrial and Applied Mathematics in China", introducing in details the history and development of industrial and applied mathematics research in China, as well as the work of CSIAM. He also introduces his research with his collaborators on numerical methods for relativistic fluid dynamics, and answers the attendees’ questions.
As an ICIAM large member, JSIAM (http://www2.jsiam.org/en/) is the central organization for industrial and applied mathematicians in Japan. It currently has more than 1,600 individual members, and 25 corporate members including Toyota, Nissan, Toshiba, Hitachi, NEC, and Canon, as well as 20 activity groups. The JSIAM's objective is to foster the mathematical sciences and engineering mathematics which contribute to the innovation of science and technology.
