On May 13, 2017, the fourth meeting of CSIAM 7th executive council is held in Hangzhou. The secretary general Guiying Yan chairs the meeting. Thirty-six executive council members along with the chairs of CSIAM activity groups attend the meeting.

CSIAM president Pingwen Zhang says that with everyone's effort, all of the society's work is going on smoothly. We should be confident in building our society into a social organization with advanced management, excellent academics and high efficiency.

CSIAM vice-president Huazhong Tang introduces the academic activities in the CSIAM's annual meeting (October 2017, Qingdao). The conference has 8 plenary talks, 18 thematic symposia and 6 embedded meetings, with the CSIAM Student Paper Prize launched for the first time. Currently the online submission system is open. Then, CSIAM vice-president Dinghui Yang reports the preparation for CSIAM Student Forum and CSIAM Student Paper Prize. The secretary general Guiying Yan gives an account of the preparation for the annual meeting, including the conference website, the online submission and registration systems, the initial conference agenda, registration fee, conference venue, and hotel reservation.

After that, CSIAM vice-president Yunqing Huang reports the work of CSIAM Activity Groups Management and Liaison Committee. The meeting passes this committee's regulations as well as the regulations for CSIAM activity groups. The work of the activity groups is going to be increasingly normalized.

The chairs of CSIAM working committees report the work respectively. The secretary general Guiying Yan introduces the administration for CSIAM office. Finally, the meeting organizes all the participants to study the policies of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the P. R. China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the P. R. China, and the China Association for Science and Technology.

On May 12, CSIAM International Exchange Committee held its first meeting, and CSIAM News Editorial Board held its second meeting.
